What is FoodBank?

The Food Bank is a straight forward system of collection, collation and distribution of basic food items to support people at times of crisis. The Food Bank has helped many people in Castleford and the surrounding area, since its opening in June 2013. We now work with several agencies who operate as voucher holders. 


Where is FoodBank?

The food bank, is based at the Smawthorne Community Church, Beancroft Road, and is being run by volunteers from the Church, with support from the churches of Castleford.


When is FoodBank open?

The Food Bank Distribution Centre is open: Thursday evenings from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

Where Vouchers can be exchanged for food.

Please note: Anyone wishing to obtain a food parcel MUST have a referal, and also some form of identification which displays full name and current address (utility bill, bank statement etc). If you are wishing to use the FoodBank services, or require more information please get in touch with us:


Donate to FoodBank

Once again we want to thank you for all food donations received and please continue to spread the word as all non-perishable food is gladly received. If you would like to make a donation please bring it to Smawthorne Community Church any Thursday evening between 6pm and 7:30pm, all donations will be gratefully received.

If you are interested in what we are doing drop in any Thursday evening for a chat and a coffee, we would be happy to see you.
