The Foodbank is a straight forward system of collection, collation and distribution of basic food items to support people at times of crisis. It has helped many people in Castleford and the surrounding area since its opening in June 2013. We now work with several agencies who operate as voucher holders.
Foodbank is based at Smawthorne Community Church, Beancroft Road, and is run by volunteers from the Church and beyond.
It is open every Thursday evening from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
Please note: Anyone wishing to obtain a food parcel must have a referal, and some form of identification which displays a persons full name and current address (utility bill, bank statement etc). We thank everyone for all food donations received and all non-perishable food are gladly received. If you would like to make a donation please bring it to Smawthorne Community Church any Thursday evening between 6pm and 7:30pm.
